Q: Are ScentVial samples authentic?
A: Yes. Every ScentVial vial is hand-filled from a sealed, retail-purchased
bottle of the original fragrance. We are not a fragrance manufacturer and
we do not blend, dilute, or reformulate anything. We buy the same bottles
you would buy at a department store, then transfer a small amount into a
glass atomizer so you can test it before committing to a full bottle.
Q: How many sprays are in each size?
A: A 2ml vial holds roughly 20 sprays, 3ml about 30, 5ml about 50, and 10ml
about 100. Most people use 3 to 4 sprays per wear, so a 2ml vial covers
about 5 to 6 full wears — enough to judge how a fragrance performs on your
skin across a week.
Q: Which size should I buy — 2ml, 3ml, 5ml or 10ml?
A: Buy 2ml if you are deciding whether you like a scent at all. Buy 5ml if you
already like it and want to wear it for a month. Buy 10ml if you want a
travel size you will actually finish. 3ml is the middle option for testing
two or three fragrances side by side.
Q: What is the difference between a decant and a factory sample?
A: A factory sample is a small vial produced by the brand itself, usually 1ml
to 1.5ml, and is not sold separately. A decant is a larger amount
transferred by hand from a full retail bottle. Decants come in the size you
choose and hold more product, which is why they are the practical option for
real-world testing.
Q: How should I store a decant?
A: Keep the vial upright, away from direct sunlight, and at stable room
temperature — a drawer or closet is ideal, a bathroom is not. Stored this
way, a decant keeps its character for at least 12 to 18 months. Heat and
light degrade fragrance faster than air does.
Q: Do the vials leak in a bag?
A: No. Every vial is a sealed glass atomizer with a screw collar, not a dab
vial or a plastic spray tube. They are sized to pass carry-on liquid limits.
Q: How long does shipping take?
A: 2-5 business days within the US, with free shipping and no
minimum order. You will get a tracking link as soon as the order ships.
Q: Can I return a decant?
A: Please choose your samples carefully, as we DO NOT accept returns or exchanges for refunds. Since we guarantee that our Niche and Designer fragrances are 100% genuine and authentic when shipped, we cannot accept returns due to the possibility of products being compromised or altered.
